“Norisring is one of the most important races in Germany and I always have a good time going there. The whole city of Nuremberg really comes alive during the race weekend and the ambiance at the track is unbelievable. It’s like a German version of the Monaco Grand Prix. The track itself is quite unique as it’s quite short (only 2.3 km long) and is basically three straight lines cut by two hairpins and one ‘S’. My weekend started very well in qualifying since I was mid-field and I knew I had enough speed to break the top-6. Unfortunately, a backmarker made a kamikaze move at the start of the first race and crashed in my car, so I had to retire.”
