“Late in 2011, I received an unexpected invitation to take part in a totally new series, the i1 Super Series. This series was scheduled to race at different venues in Asia in the winter, and feature top drivers such as Jacques Villeneuve, Vitantonio Liuzzi, Karun Chandhok, Giancarlo Fisichella, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jean Alesi, and also talented young Indian drivers. We did one shakedown test and launch event at Yas Marina Circuit. The whole thing was first class, but for many different reasons, the first season got cancelled. The concept was very interesting and who knows, maybe it will happen in the near future. I would be ready, for sure.”
