First TV experience for auto racing star Cyndie Allemann

Where: Bremgarten, Switzerland. When: 2013-01-25. Author: Cyndie Allemann Team.

Fresh off her Japanese Super GT season in 2012, and already working on future racing programs, 26-year-old Swiss race car driver Cyndie Allemann is continuing her busy schedule. She has been working on a project that will see her make her an appearance as a television show host in early March. The show (in German language) is called “Auftrag Auto” and will be presented on German TV channel SPORT1 starting Thursday March 7th. A new show will be presented every Thursday.

Cyndie will co-host the show with Alex Wesselsky, the 43-year-old presenter and frontman of the band “Icebreaker”. She will bring her vast knowledge and her 18-year experience as a race car driver. She is absolutely thrilled to participate in this new project.

“This is my first experience on TV and I must say that I’m very happy to have the opportunity to use my background and knowledge as a race car driver in a TV show. I have a lot of fun while shooting it and I’m thrilled to be able to test all those cars. The whole SPORT1 team as well as my co-host Alex Svesselski have given me a lot of input and have helped me a lot so that I can feel comfortable in my new role as a TV host. I must admit: I love this new job and I’m having a total blast!”

The auto show will have an original concept: Cyndie and Alex will receive a special mission from the SPORT1 spectators via email or Facebook, and they must address this special mission.

“The general concept for “Auftrag Auto” is this one: Alex lives in an old factory building and I meet him at his place to go over what the spectators have asked us to investigate: sports car for less than 30,000 Euros, the best hybrid car, etc. Based on these criterias, we test a few cars and off we go. We test those cars on the road, and also, once in a while, on the race track. After that, we make our comments on the style, confort, power, and more. The show also has quite a few funny and surprising moments. I’m really proud of this new challenge in my career as a race car driver.”

The 45-minute show premieres on SPORT1 on Thursday March 7th, at 20h15. There will be a new episode every Thursday.
